Morning Preparations – 6:00 AM
The day begins early when you’re in the bee removal business. As I suit up in my protective gear and double-check my specialized equipment, the morning sun barely peeks over the horizon. Each day brings new challenges in our mission to safely relocate honey bees and remove problematic hives.
First Call – 7:30 AM
Today’s first stop involves a colony that’s made its home in a residential soffit. Before any removal work begins, I perform a thorough inspection to assess:
• Colony size
• Access points
• Structural considerations
• Safety requirements
Careful Extraction – 9:00 AM
The actual removal process requires patience and precision. We use specialized vacuum systems calibrated to safely collect bees without harming them. Meanwhile, we carefully remove honeycomb sections, ensuring the brood (developing bees) remains intact for relocation.
Afternoon Challenges – 2:00 PM
Between calls, we transport rescued colonies to approved apiaries where they can thrive without causing concerns for property owners. Each removal teaches us something new about these fascinating insects.
End of Day – 6:00 PM
Before heading home, I clean and sanitize all equipment, update client records, and prepare for tomorrow’s assignments. It’s satisfying work knowing we’re helping both property owners and protecting essential pollinators.
Every day in bee removal presents unique situations, but our commitment to safe, humane, and professional service remains constant. While some might see bees as a nuisance, we understand their vital role in our ecosystem and take pride in providing solutions that benefit both humans and bees.
